THE IMPRACTICAL LIFE
“Integrity – You Got This?”
Pastor Scott Oas | 04.24.16
“He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.” - Proverbs 2:7 (NLT)
THREE QUALITIES THAT ARE EXPRESSED FROM A LIFE OF INTEGRITY
1. INTEGRITY BUILDS TRUST
The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” - Jeremiah 1:4-5 (NIV)
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. - Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
2. INTEGRITY BRINGS COURAGE
“Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. - Jeremiah 1:6-8 (NIV)
3. INTEGRITY BECOMES SERVANTHOOD
Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” - Jeremiah 1:9-10 (NIV)
“All that is not the love of God has no meaning for me. I can truthfully say that I have no interest in anything but the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. If God wants it to, my life will be useful through my word and witness. If he wants it to, my life will bear fruit through my prayers and sacrifices. But the usefulness of my life is his concern, not mine. It would be indecent of me to worry about that.” - Dominique Voillaume
