Abraham was Rich, Respected, and Religious.


I) ABRAHAM’S FAITH - Genesis 12:1-4 (NLT)

The Problem: God needed a nation, a family line to produce the Messiah.
The Proposal: I’ll start with Abraham.
The Price: Leave your country, culture, and kin.
The Promise: God said, “Abraham, you will be the Father of many nations.”

II) ABRAHAM’S FABRICATION - Genesis 12:10-20 (NLT)

The Problem: Abraham took mattes in his own hands.
The Proposal: Say you are my sister!
The Price: Pharaoh & household had serious diseases. Abraham got back an angry Sarah.

III) ABRAHAM’S FAILURE - Genesis 16:1-12 (NLT)

The Problem: No son.
The Proposal: Go sleep with Hagar.
The Price: Resentment, rebellion, rivalry, and rejection.
