IS THE CHURCH STILL RELEVANT TODAY?

“When It Celebrates the Love of God”

Pastor Duane Cross |  10.23.2011

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."                                                I John 4:7-10(NIV)

THE FURIOUS LOVE OF GOD

1)  WHO ARE YOU

"But now in Christ Jesus you who were once far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.”                                                                             (Ephesians 2:13)

2)  HOW WE LIVE

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”                            I John 4:18(NIV)

TO BE SEIZED BY THE POWER OF A GREAT AFFECTION"

3)  HOW YOU LOVE AND WHY YOU OBEY

“This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,...”                                                                     I John 5:3(NIV)

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.”                                                                                                                                  I John 4:16(NIV)
