SATAN: GOALS AND METHODS

GOALS:

1. To separate people from God (Genesis 3)

2. To destroy human trust in God (Job 1

3. To keep people from praising God (Luke 13)

4. To deceive people into thinking Satan is God (2 Thessalonians:2)

METHODS:

1. Tempts humans to sin (Genesis 3)

2. Inflict suffering, incite violence, natural disasters, disease, death (Job 1-2)

3. Blinds the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4)

4. Convinces people that he is good (2 Corinthians 11:12-14)

DEMONS: GOAL AND METHODS

GOAL: To help Satan separate human beings from God

METHODS:

1. Demon possession (Mark 5:6-9)

2. Physical attacks and disease (Matthew 9:32-33, 12:22, 17:15-18), (Mark 9:20)

3. Promote false teaching (1 Timothy 4:1)

4. Promote idolatry (Deuteronomy 32:16-17) (Psalms 96:5)

(1 Corinthians 10:20-21)

5. Promote disobedience (Ephesians 2:2)

6. Cause division in the church (1 Peter 3:13-16)

THE GOOD NEWS

* God’s power is greater than all the combined power of Satan and his angels.

* The power that is in you is greater than the power of the demons!

* God already has the victory over Satan and his angels.

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
