Engaging with a church can be a daunting task. Sometimes it's difficult to know where to start. That's why we have tried to simplify the process. Here are several ways you can engage at Hope.
Our weekly Sunday services are the best place to start. Starting August 13, we will be going back to 2 services, one at 9:00am and the second at 10:30am. The service lasts about 65-70 minutes and includes contemporary worship music and a down-to-earth Bible-based message. When you arrive, expect to be greeted and welcomed. We love people. If you have any questions look for one of our Greeters, they're the ones with the nametags on.
At the back of our chairs you will find a "connect card." This card is the best way for you to pass along your information and allow us to serve you. The card allows you to list prayer requests (that we'll pray for), join small groups, sign up for ministries, and much more. You're also welcome to fill out an online Connect Card.
The second Sunday of every month the pastors and church leaders host a Ten Minute Party in the conference room (to the right of the Worship Center) immediately after both services. This is a quick opportunity to allow us to get to know you. Snacks & drinks and a simple gift are provided.
The Starting Point Class is the most important next step at Hope. This class is the introduction to our church--our passions, beliefs, history, and ministries. It's highly interactive, providing you a chance to ask questions and get face time with many different people in the church. The class is offered several times throughout the year in two different formats--a Sunday class that meets for 5 consecutive weeks during first service, and a 5-hour Saturday class (not for the faint of heart!). This class is also the first of three steps in our membership process.
Small groups are where community happens at Hope. Sunday mornings are great but they do not provide enough time to cultivate strong friendships. This is why we encourage everyone at Hope to find a small group. We offer three types of groups. First, our Grow Groups are our sermon-based groups that meet on a weekly basis throughout the city. These groups run on 12-week cycles with breaks in between. Next, our Bible Groups are ongoing groups that study books of the Bible. And, finally, various affinity groups (e.g., Marriage Class, Women's Study) run at different times in the year.
We believe one of the best things you can do for yourself is to serve on a ministry team. Does this benefit us? Sure, but more importantly it benefits you by connecting you to other team members and making you an owner and active participant in the ministry happening at Hope Covenant Church, rather than just a recipient. Fill out our Ministry Request Form to express interest in joining a team.
