Women of Hope: Ministry Matters

September is rapidly approaching and that means fall kick-off for most of our ministries that rest over the summer, including Women of Hope. If you are interested in getting connected to God and other women, please read below. We've got some great things lined up!

By now many of you have heard the rave reviews from the 20 Hope women who were able to attend Triennial, our denomination's women's conference. If you've been wishing you could participate in all the richness you've hear about from your friends, you can! Follow this link-- http://covchurch.tv/category/events/triennial/triennial-xiv/ -- to listen to any of the incredible key note speakers from the conference and hear the dynamic, Spirit-filled worship. One of my favorites was Pastor Judy Peterson's sermon about the parable of the Sower and the Seeds which she cleverly and powerfully renames, The Dirt on the Dirt.

Back by popular demand are Diva Dessert Nights. These are casual evenings for women to gather, get acquainted over dessert and hear testimony of God's work in our lives. Stay tuned for our first date and let me know if you would like to host one in your home!

I'm so pleased to announce two fall Bible studies for women only. Check out the descriptions below:

  • A Confident Heart -- Led by Pam Karlberg

Do you ever feel like you’re not good enough, smart enough, or valuable enough? Do words you say to yourself, or hear from others, make you question your worth and purpose? Renee Swope understands. Even with a great family, a successful career, and a thriving ministry, she still struggled with paralyzing self-doubt. Renee candidly, and sometimes humorously, shares her story of overcoming self-doubt with powerful Biblical truths that have transformed her life. This study will be offered on Sundays 10:45 AM, Sept 22nd through Nov 17th.

  • What Happens When Women Say Yes to God -- Led by Joan Maloof

This is a 6 week DVD study by popular author Lysa Terkeurst (of Made to Crave and Unglued). Lisa will help us learn how to:Build personal, two-way conversations with GodDevelop a hunger for getting into God's Word every day and applying its truthEnjoy blessing others by seeing inconveniences as opportunitiesReduce controlling fear by placing your deepest desires into His handsGet involved in the unique adventure God has created for you. Wednesday evenings, Sept 25 - Oct 30 at 7pm in the conference room. Workbooks will cost $10.

If either of these Bible studies grab your attention and will fit into your schedule, send an email to corrie@hopechurchchandler.com or look for a sign up table on Sunday September 8th.

I've received a request from several of our women that they would like some active activities like a hike in one of our beautiful parks nearby. If you are interested in organizing an outing or have other active ideas, please let me know.

And if you just want to hear about our heart for the Women of Hope, please check out our page: http://hopechurchchandler.com/womens-ministry-
