Who Am I?

In his book, “All In” Mark Batterson writes:

“When God revealed His plan to Moses, Moses objected to the Almighty. He detailed a litany of excuses ranging from is lack of credentials to his stuttering problem. He summarized his insecurities by simply saying, “Who am I?” But that’s the wrong question. It’s not about who you are. It’s about whose you are! And I love the Almighty’s answer. “I AM WHO I AM.” God answers his questions by revealing His name. And He also offers this reassurance; “I will be with you.”

That’s all we need to know, isn’t it?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

God plus one equals a supermajority.

It’s not about who you are! Who you are is absolutely irrelevant. God doesn’t use us because of us. He uses us in spite of who we are.”

I love the fact that God uses ordinary people to partner with Him in accomplishing His purposes. When we join up with God remarkable changes take place in our lives. God unwraps the package of His power, gifts, strength, insight, wisdom, character development, hope, compassion, grace and on and on. When we catch hold of that, the “Who am I?” question once filled with uncertainty is transformed into a life with incredible prospects.
