Maggie’s Place Mother’s Day Brunch

The Women of Hope had the privilege of honoring and serving more than 50 women from Maggie’s Place on Saturday, May 12. Not only did current residents of the three local “hospitality homes for pregnant single women” attend, but many “alumni” moms came with their children, too.

We were also honored with the presence of fifteen young, recent college-graduate women who oversee the operation of these homes. Their sacrifice and dedication is truly inspiring.

It was especially gratifying to see the loving spirit of so many from Hope who helped plan and serve at this event, for the generous cash donations and the TON of baby clothes. Maggie’s Place was amazed to see so many give up their Saturday to make this a special occasion for them, those who are often overlooked at times like Mother’s Day. We send a big THANK YOU; to all those who served, but especially to the young people!

The Women of Hope concludes its series of “Women Under Construction” events. We have planned; we have formed a foundation; have built and grown on that foundation and finally, with this event, served others in the example of Christ: “Even the Son of Man did not come to be served. Instead, he came to serve others. He came to give his life as the price for setting many people free.” Mark 10:45

We hope to form an ongoing relationship with Maggie’s Place to provide an opportunity for our women to serve there. We will have details soon for ways YOU can make a difference in the lives of both the residents and staff at Maggie’s Place. Stay tuned!

Blessings,

The Team: Corrie Gustafson, Joan Maloof, Alyssa Brooks-Dowty, Stacy Heimkes, Susan Weaver
